Changes

This collaged triptych on wooden canvas includes newspaper, acrylic markers for the black text and detailing, acrylic paint for the clocks and the color on the hot glue words and sides of the canvases, and photos of David Bowie, taken by Brian Ward for the cover of Bowie’s album Hunky Dory, printed on acetate paper. Each piece of the triptych includes lyrics from Bowies “Changes”, which ties in the album Hunky Dory once again. Moving across the triptych from left to right, each artwork represents a different piece of time- past, present, and future. I chose lyrics with the purpose of conveying these themes, and the Bowie photos help to convey a somewhat universal feeling of looking down upon your past, having to face the present, and hopefully looking up and forward to the future.
