My clock sculpture is a reflection on how fleeting time can feel at moments, but also how still it feels when all you want is for it to move forward. It includes lyrics from Pink Floyds “Time” which I felt helped to illustrate both the push from others to make every moment count and also how impossible it feel to value every dull moment of a time I know I will eventually miss when I’m no longer in it. It was a study of a more pop art style like the works of Liechtenstein, such as Interior with Woman (1997) , as reflected in the dramatic and stylized shading and highlights; I wanted it to feel as if it could have been pulled from a comic of some sort.
